Oh so natural! Natural's Icecream (GK2)

Another mumbai eatery that has made its way into Delhi is the Naturals Icecream!! Yippie!! I am certain many of us dilliwallas have asked relatives and friend traveling to Mumbai to get some Naturals ice-cream on their return. (In case you dont know, Naturals provides a special casing for icecreams that can be easily carried in flights with contents remaining intact for several hours).

The first store has opened in GK2 and I am told that there's another one coming up shortly in CP. Its located on the GK2 main road, in the same market that houses Mainland China.

True to its name, Natural's icecreams are 100% natural containing only fruits, milk and sugar. So no preservatives or artificial sweetners. Known for its quirky flavors such as tender coconut, watermelon and sitaphal, Naturals does regular flavors too. I strongly recommend trying mango (which is seasonal) and malai kulfi (with chopped strawberries if you can lay your hands on some). I would also urge you to try the not so conventional flavours such as sitaphal, guava, papaya-pineapple as you wouldnt get these indianised flavours anywhere in the world!

So scoop it up people, for our very own Mumbaiya gelato is in town.

Price per scoop is competitive. Average price for a scoop is Rs 60-70. And if one scoop doesn't satiate your ice-cream hunger, tubs are also available at the outlet.

Tip1: Try an unconventional flavor and you will be surprised how good it is

Tip2: If available, must eat is mango and malai flavors

Happy chilling with Naturals

Indigo deli

Indigo Deli (Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj)
Indigo Deli’s coming to Delhi after several years of its successful Mumbai running was indeed being looked forward to by many including me. I have visited the restaurant, which boasts of excellent food, several times in Mumbai and a few occasions in Delhi since its opening in May (that’s what the guy serving us told me) earlier this year. The service at this place is good, the best part being that the servers are well informed about the menu and can make excellent recommendations if asked For. Finding a table is almost impossible if you decide to just walk in on a weekday lunch. Big groups of noisy ladies lunching more over gossip than food can be a bit annoying. I would recommend a dinner with prior reservation at the place.

In the choice of food, almost everything I have tried has been exceptional. The salads are excellent, so is the super-thin base pizza (recommended). Risotto, Mac n cheese and deli’s area few other dishes that I tried. But what I enjoy the most at Indigo Deli are the freshly baked cookies, made especially on order. The yummiest cookies ever are a must-eat in my opinion. The deal is that you have to place an order at least half an hour before (that is when you are ordering your main course or while eating it). They give you two options – chocolate or peanut butter, and trust me, when I say that both are as delectable. The minimum order is at least 4 cookies. And they are totally worth over-ordering and carrying a doggy-bag home.

In all, its a good place for dinner with a small group of friends or family. Average spend would be close to Rs 1800 per person i.e without drinks.

Tip1: With winters setting in, I would recommend the terrace seating. It is much smaller compared to the lower level, but can house a medium sized party or and has a few cozy corners. Withgrass-laded flooring, it seems more ‘outdoor’ than an average terrace restaurant!

Tip2: Don’t forget the cookies (read above)

Tip3: Do Try: pizzas, deli’s and salads
